16mm film pendants on etsy!

Originally uploaded by lorelei

i have a lot of 16mm educational films that i’ve been collecting over the years. it’s a little embarrassing to say how many i have, so i’ll just tell you that it’s a lot.

sometimes the prints get damaged or experience this nasty thing called vinegar syndrome. when that happens to one of my films it always makes me a little sad inside. thankfully, i’ve thought of a way that i can save some of the images and i’ve gotten all crafty on it.

so with that said, check out my 16mm film jewelry on etsy!

teeny

filmfatale pal and society of rockets trumpeteer, justin, forwarded this link about the teeniest projector that ever was. i’m curious how hot it gets and what its inputs are - but it still seems pretty darn cool!

truncated

ok, i apologize for one more iron man post, but this one made me laugh. here’s the super hilarious, super short version of iron man. (link via michael)

crocs

i just walked by a guy in my office who was wearing crocs with grey camo pants. i had to wait until i walked past him before i started laughing. i know we’re all nerds that work here, but doesn’t anyone give these people fashion tips?

fanboy!

yay! even in the chaos of reporting on all things excellent at e3, the fine folks at ds fanboy gave a nice shout out to my nintendo ds critters on sale! i hope this leads to more critters finding good homes.

i’m selling nintendo ds critters on etsy! i’ve been making these guys for friends and family and thought that they would be great gifts for other people as well!

each of these handmade guys are unique and made from a combination of recycled clothing, wool, and cotton flannel. they’ll keep your nintendo ds warm and secure and my favorite thing about them is that when you close the case, their ears pop up!

please click on by the store when you get a chance!

wild

i heart spike jonze. i also heart maurice sendack. these two statements add up to me double-hearting the spike jonze version of where the wild things are, which has unfortunately been delayed and tied up in various stages of the process. here’s the latest update as well as a great little short directed by mr. john lasseter himself.

i was cracking up when i went there a few days ago and found this letter posted right near their entrance. the owners of the restaurant obviously think it’s as funny as i do.

arthur

arthur magazine, probably one of the best culture magazines out there - is looking down the barrel of a gun. they need to raise $20,000 in an unbelievably short period of time and they desperately need help. i know these guys, they’re good peoples. please help them out with whatever you can! every little bit is really going to count.

origam-e

i don’t know how this origami iron man got past my radar, but thankfully, steve forwarded this link to the even more impressive and adorable origami wall-e so i could see this guy’s other works. now i must figure out how to make or acquire these two figures so that the pixar/ilm residents of my household can be properly represented!
