speechwars counts how many times the presidential candidates mention words of your choosing in their speeches. for example, i just learned that mccain has said “equality” only 9 times, while obama has said the same word 44 times. interesting stuff! (link via treehugger)

the record car lasted me 14 years. i’ve had the spacecar around 5 years, but i would love it if i could get it to survive for 20, especially now that michael forwarded me this great link of cars that have been around for 20 years with one owner.

i doubt that the large hadron collider will blow us back to infinity and beyond, but it’s still quite the sight to behold. here’s a great article from bbc news giving a little history and some cool pics from its construction.
