reason #658 of why i love the billboard liberation front.

a great modification of a nyquil ad seen at third and army (the sign has been replaced by now):

the art of dr. seuss is now passing through san francisco and is at the cartoon art museum. i was able to catch a guided tour through the artwork and it was informative and entertaining, i think jon stewart might even call this "info-ganda!"

i caught another kid koala show last night for the ninja tune tour that just swept through san francisco. oh yeah, and there was that amon tobin guy too. the whole show was pretty spectacuriffic.

after you check out my pictures of japan, you can cruise on by the japanese manhole cover site.

03.26.04

i've finally done it. it's been almost a year, but my japan pictures are now up. (i figured that when i get back from my cross country vacation, i didn't want to have to update the site for both japan and the states.) anyway, i hope you enjoy them.

i would love to hear any suggestions you might have of places for me to check out while i'm driving through this huge country of ours. i already have a slew of frank lloyd wright buildings i'm going to visit, as well as the corn palace and mount rushmore. email me!

the exorcist by bunnies. the power of christ compels you.

i've decided that even though i'm not super excited about john kerry, i'm going to do everything i can to get him elected in office. my latest attempt has been to get society of rockets (the new band name, yes) to join bands against bush. petitions, voters, fund raisers, whatever we need to do, we're on it.

speaking of which, this fundrace site is pretty cool. it shows which neighborhoods are donating how much money to political parties. (link via guitarzan)

there's nothing quite like a good set of teeth. (via flickr)

03.18.04

wow. how cool would it be to have a 1gb hard drive shaped like a duck? i want i want.

a few years ago, i went and took the dashiell hammett walking tour. the funny bit (well, one of the funny bits) was the fact that i took it the week i got back from barcelona. there's something a little odd about taking a guided tour through your own city after travelling.

watch out for your co-workers (or at the very least, don't sing around them.)

03.15.04

i accidentally stumbled upon flickr.com and was startled to discover that this is ben's latest project! once i got through the slightly confusing orientation of the site, i became addicted. essentially, it's realtime chat rooms with picture exchanges. it adds a whole 'nother level of communication on this here 'internet.' go there.

03.13.04

since my work is so project based, i never know how long a vacation i can get until the absolute last minute. the cards have finally fallen and it looks like i have a two month window of no work! i've decided that this year will be my road trip from california to maine and back. i know two months isn't long enough for complete americana, but i'm completely stuck on the idea now.

03.09.04

seeing the american trailer for zatoichi is a little disconcerting. it's funny how it seems like they just mad-libbed the voice over for this because nobody could quite figure out how to describe it.

then of course, there's also, kill bill 2.

baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby!

adam and su-yun have a baby!

ok. there's only one baby. (in case you are confused by my use of the word 'baby' over and over again) adam is my oldest friend in the world! su-yun is a totally hip happenin' mom! the baby's name is roxanne! roxanne is a brand spanking new container of genetic material! how frikkin' cool is that??

did i tell you that adam and su-yun have a baby!?!?!

baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby! baby!

domini has drafted me into her breakdancing class. i've definitely broken something, but i can't say that it was dancing.

even if i knew japanese, i think i would still think that the seamen ship was astoundingly funny. (link via pete)

i'm terribly saddened by the news of spalding grey's death. on the one hand, i'm grateful that i've had the opportunity to see him perform as many times as i possibly could, on the other hand, i wish those performances were as cathartic to him as i led myself to believe. i pay my respects to an artist who has influenced me in many ways.

03.04.04

i have to admit, i have a serious crush on michel gondry's brain. i wonder how i can convince him to hire a visual effects editor who doesn't speak french? here's his latest video with stop motion knitting.

badgerbadgerbadger is completely inexplicable (although, i can tell that it has something to do with a badger, a mushroom and a snake). someone tell me if it ever ends because i had to stop it before i went insane.
