not related to the road trip, but still super cool: jory forwarded me this link about the origami folding robot. i've been pretty obsessive about origami lately, but mostly geometric, modular origami, rather than planes and birds.

it's now been a week and so far this road trip is utterly and completely fantastic. i'm having a great time and even the midwest is entertaining. i'm out here in minneapolis, visiting my friend becky. tomorrow, our big adventure is to try to go to the spam museum. although i'm a vegetarian, i can't help but be totally fascinated. i must go. the power of pork compels me.

after the spam, i begin the frank lloyd wright leg of the tour. i'm planning on checking out taliesen east and wingspread, as well as a few churches and other buildings around wisconsin. (mmm... frank lloyd wright...)

today i'm frantically packing for my trip, since i'll be leaving tomorrow. weblog entries will be sporadic for the next six weeks or so, but they should be good! thanks to rusty, i'll have gps coordinates, even.

if you have a chance to come to cafe du nord tonight, please do! our band will be playing at around 10pm and then the lovely owen of the casiotone for the painfully alone will headline. don't miss owen

i received an email awhile ago from tinker with jpes of the top ten worst cover albums of all time, but this is the first time i've gotten a link... so... here you go. prepare for comedy.

the shimme... i mean.. ummm... the society of rockets will be interviewed on kusf 90.3 fm, this tuesday morning at 8am. if you're driving to work or sitting at your desk, listen to us talk about our new noises and plug our upcoming show at cafe du nord on wednesday night! it'll be indie-pop-tastic.

another reason why you should come to our show is because the thursday morning i'll be getting into my car and leaving for my six week cross country road trip. it would be great to see you all before my grand adventures across this great big land of ours.
