i'm sure that you've all come to the realization that i like creating avatars. i'm a little bothered that there never seems to be an asian option, but i suppose maybe some people might be offended? that seems weird, though. anyway... asian or not, you can create your own minifig! ahhh... i didn't mean to alarm anybody with my last post. it's just that i've been too busy to post to the weblog and i had just seen they might be giants at the fillmore. the text from 07.24.02 is the opening lyrics to 'she's actual size' by tmbg and it's also one of my favorite songs. i also find it aesthetically pleasing that each line gets longer... -=sigh=- sorry about that. nothing to see here, people. move along. move along.

the best compliment i have ever gotten on my hair was when the owner of country station came up to my table and told me in broken english that my hair looked like a weed. a couple weeks later, i was surprised to find out that a journalist from sf weekly was sitting nearby (read the last five paragraphs).

it would be far, far too embarrassing to admit how obsessed i was with dr. who when i was a teenager. instead, i will distract you with this bbc story about new dr. who online episodes. (star link)

as much as i loved dr. who, i'm glad that i didn't go so far as to line my bedroom with aluminum foil. it's much easier to stop abductions with this hat.

speaking of obsessions, i've found more pictures of tiny, tiny things.

i disagree that all the movies listed at badmovies.org are actually bad (unless they mean bad as in good, not bad as in bad).

excellent! they got the amphicar out! (link via jory)

the molecular expressions photo gallery has hundreds (thousands?) of ultra-cool microscopy pictures sorted by subject.

as it turns out, everybody's obsessed about the flag man. a week after i wrote about him, the san francisco chronicle has an article about his last daily walk. go, flag man, go!

the only time i ever felt that independence day held personal significance to me was the day i abruptly quit my job at the jewelry store. that was pretty satisfying.

i love smart cars. i drove one on the autobahn in germany a few years and my obsession with them has yet to cease. in my dream garage, there is a honda insight and a smart car. in my utopian dream garage, the smart car is also hybrid electric. (another fine link brought you by the stevebot)

i also love amphicars... if i owned one, though, i'd probably stay away from the delaware.

jory and i have decided that the best simpsons episodes are the ones that involve nasa. of course, the absolute best episode is deep space homer... now there's TOYS! (nicalink)
