john switched. the way things are going 'round these parts, i'm almost convinced. (link via jory)

to stay with the switch theme, here's the one and only interview with the infamous ellen feiss. riiight... benadryl. we believe you.

if the idea of explosives and acid alarms you, then there are a few stories i have which i should probably not tell you. instead, i will magically avert your attention towards this short documentary about the british government experimenting with their soldiers on lsd.

saw solaris for thanksgiving. i have to admit that george clooney didn't aggravate every fiber in my body like he typically does. it's a good movie. check it out.

michael jackson. does he have leprosy or is he devolving? i can't tell.

dave uncovered the little-known facts about leon theremin's secret agent days. that's what i want to be when i grow up: a secret agent theremin player.

in what is proving to be one of the more stranger seasons in the sitcom known as my life. i got slight carbon monoxide poisoning today at work when the contractors did some flood-related construction work (see 11.19.02) with a diesel-powered jackhammer on the first floor of my building. shit. i'm not quite ready to sit in the garage with the car running quite yet, thanks.

i think i may have stepped into a chaos hole. i imagine they're probably a lot like wormholes, except there's more death and destruction involved. last week involved my grandmother's funeral, my office flooding with 4,000 gallons of a burst water main and a super depressing birthday (did i mention that my birthday is on the same day as my grandmother's? it was my first one without her.). i usually don't vent about things like this, but it was all just far too insane to believe that it was all actually happening.

fortunately, this week has not involved any death or destruction (at least in relation to myself). on the upside, our band is getting a good review in next week's issue of cmj! sorry, i can't provide a link, since they're primarily a print publication, but linger at your local newstand next week and check it out.

...and a week can't be all that bad as long as there's garden gnomes. (link via jory)

once again, salon.com struggles to survive. i'm a subscriber, so i hope that they can somehow stick it out. i'm also grateful that i won't be watching the mercedes commercials, though.
